LeBron James reveals the college he really wanted to attend
The basketball culture in the city of Toronto continues to grow more and more each year.
The Raptors first arrived in Toronto in 1995 and first made its big mark in the NBA when they reached the playoffs back in 2000, despite being swept by the New York Knicks.
Toronto was led by the emergence of Tracy McGrady and former University of North Carolina standout Vince Carter.

To celebrate Carter’s legacy and what it meant for the city of Toronto, executive producers LeBron James and Drake put together a film that is set to premiere this week at the Toronto Film Festival.
The two sat down with former Raptors star Chris Bosh to discuss the basketball culture around Toronto, including Carter’s influence.
During the segment, James recalls the time he watched Carter play in the McDonald’s All-American Game as well as his time at UNC.
Here’s what James said about Carter at UNC and how he himself wanted to be a member of the Tar Heels:
“I wanted to go to Carolina at the time, so him going to Carolina it was like ‘okay.’ Watching Ed Cota throwing the lobs to him, Antawn Jamison and all those guys on that team,” James said in the video.
He went on to praise Carter’s athletic ability saying that when you watch him, it looked like he was flying.

James never went to UNC or college and instead decided to go straight into the NBA. He was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Many have speculated that James would stay close to home and attend Ohio State. He has a connection to the University and has been in attendance for football and basketball games.
But hearing James say he wanted to be a Tar Heel was pretty damn cool.
