North Carolina will not be visiting Garrison Brooks on Wednesday

In a rather shocking turn of events, head coach Roy Williams will not be making the trip to Auburn, Alabama on Wednesday to visit Garrison Brooks according to a post on Inside Carolina’s premium forum.

No reports have come out about a possible rescheduling of the visit.

The Heels were scheduled to be in town to visit Brooks, but a last-minute change of plans occurred.

No information has come out as to who, or what caused the cancellation. Carolina is also scheduled to be in Florida today, just to visit priority target Kevin Knox this evening.

This visit is expected to go on as scheduled.

More from UNC Basketball

Brooks, the recent Mississippi State de-commit was released from his NLI a few weeks ago and reopened his commitment.

It seemed as if the Heels were the team to beat even before the initial commitment to MSU.

Brooks’ father is an assistant on staff at Mississippi State, and seemed to have been the deciding factor in getting Brooks there.

Brooks’ announcement was a real emotional ceremony, leading people to believe that Brooks was not making the decision for himself.

It was made well-known that Brooks’ mother was adamant about wanting him to go to UNC, but in the end, Mississippi State was the initial winner.

When Brooks was released from his NLI, many believed he would quickly commit to UNC. Some even thought a commitment would come as early as today.

A few schools have visited Brooks this week, making him one of the hottest commodities on the market. Rumors have been circulated that Kansas has been involved.

Carolina is in a crucial time right now with its front court depth. The Heels only have one power forward on the team as of right now, and Brooks would fill the backup role.

This also comes at a time when the future of Tony Bradley is up in the air.

Hopefully, a rescheduled visit will be set, and Roy will be able to sit down with Brooks.
