Would you look at that: Bill Belichick is actually communicating with others!

With all the rumors swirling, it's essentially impossible to keep track of it all.

While we all thought Bill Belichick was on the way out at North Carolina, it all took a complete twist when Belichick and Bubba Cunningham released statements that essentially confirmed that the head coach of the UNC football program is here to stay (at least for now).

After rumors swirled that assistant coaches couldn't get in contact with Belichick during the team's bye week, Pete Nakos of On3 confirmed that the head coach is actually communicating with at least some recruits who have pledged to North Carolina.

Belichick reportedly reached out to some recruits to discuss what is currently going on in Chapel Hill. Some top commits, including Travis Burgess, were on the record confirming that they have no intentions of changing their commitment any time soon.

What should this news tell you? Well, it really shouldn't tell ya much.

All it indicates is that Belichick is looking to stay (at least for now), and is attempting to make sure that the negative headlines surrounding the program don't affect the recruiting trail, especially given the heavy focus on building a massive 2026 recruiting class.

Just because Belichick is calling recruits and trying to "set the record straight" doesn't mean that he's going to be here long-term, and the statements released late on Wednesday night are simply holdovers as the university figures out how to proceed with this entire mess.

For now, the good news is that at least Belichick is communicating with someone other than Jordon Hudson and his family!
