Weather concerns have (and will continue to) hit the east coast over the next few days.

The ACC Tournament, which is being played in Charlotte, North Carolina, has already been impacted, as Thursday's quarterfinal games were moved up earlier in the day in an attempt to beat the rain.

North Carolina was originally scheduled to play at 3:00 PM EST on Friday against Virginia Tech, but the plan has changed just a bit.

The ACC makes a schedule change with inclement weather on the way

In an effort once again to beat the stormy weather, the ACC had moved up Friday's quarterfinal matchups to earlier in the day. First pitch of the Diamond Heels' first postseason game will now be scheduled for 11:00 AM EST, four hours earlier than the originally-scheduled contest.

The good news is that the plan is still to get the game in on Friday. It likely doesn't matter for Scott Forbes and his team as they are probably itching to get back on the field to compete.

However, if you were banking on watching the game, you might just have to find a way to view it during your regularly scheduled work day.

North Carolina leads the way with 8 All-ACC honorees for the 2026 regular season

North Carolina, the No. 2 seed in this year's tournament, aims to defend it's title, a run that starts on Friday. The Tar Heels would need to string together three wins in a row to do so, something that Forbes and company know this group is capable of doing.

Ace Jason DeCaro is expected to start on Friday for the Tar Heels, as he is projected to square off against junior Brett Renfrow. The Diamond Heels saw Renfrow a season ago, jumping on him for five runs on eight hits, but he comes in hot, allowing just three earned runs over his last 23.1 innings pitched.

Forbes hopes that DeCaro can set the tone, pitching deep into the quarterfinal game, allowing the bullpen to not be overtaxed in hopes of playing through Sunday in this postseason tournament.
