RJ Davis developed a reputation as a "bucket getter" during his five-year career at North Carolina.
The former UNC basketball star signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, allowing him the opportunity to participate in NBA Summer League action. Davis, a White Plains, New York native, made his professional debut on Saturday night, scoring his first basket in the second quarter of the Lakers summer league clash against the Golden State Warriors.
In case you missed it, here's the bucket scored by Davis:

Davis didn't have his best shooting night, missing six of his seven attempts, but showed some positive signs during his 13 minutes of action. Mostly running the point, Davis recorded a rebound and an assist, as he made quite a few good passes that set his teammates up nicely.
In limited action, Davis showed that he can not only create shots for himself, but can get others involved as well.
The former Tar Heel will have to make the most of every opportunity he has over the next few weeks, as it's no guarantee that he'll earn a roster spot with the Lakers. This opportunity serves as a way for Davis to showcase his talents to not only the Lakers but the entire league, as a strong overall performance in NBA Summer League action could convince an organization to take a chance on him.
