In an attempt to find a spot on an NBA roster, Garrison Brooks signed with the Detroit Pistons to compete in the 2025 NBA Summer League.

While his opportunities were limited (appearing in only two games), the former UNC basketball standout made sure to impress whenever he found his way onto the court.

His biggest highlight came from this absolute poster alley-oop slam that definitely caught the attention of NBA fans.

Working in a pick and roll, Brooks did his job well. The former Tar Heel set the screen and crashed toward the basket, as his point guard Zakai Zeigler hit him with a pass near the rim. Brooks made an extremely athletic play, catching the basketball with his left hand, finishing the play with a slam that hyped his teammates up.

You know you're dunk is legit when all the broadcaster can say is, "OH MY GOODNESS!"

Brooks has played overseas over the last few seasons, as his last NBA G League appearance came during the 2022-2023 season. With big men being more of a necessity at the NBA level, the hope is that Brooks can earn a spot with an NBA squad, even if it's with their G League team, in an effort to prove that he belongs playing basketball in the United States.
