Jordan Shipp is frustrated with the UNC football program's offense, and is rightly justified in his frustrations.
Following the Tar Heels loss to Wake Forest, a game in which the offense failed to find the end zone, Shipp was very open with the media while speaking about the issues the offense has had essentially all season long.
What's annoying Shipp even more is the fact that the defense has been very good but hasn't gotten the love it deserves due to the poor offensive attack.
Asked UNC WR Jordan Shipp about the defense keeping them in games while offense struggles:

"We (have a) top defense in the country & they don't get the honor that they should get, b/c of the offense. Thats just something we just got to own up to, there's no more hiding from it." pic.twitter.com/hrt20iop4E
"We have a top defense in the country, and they don't get the honor that they should get, because of the offense," Shipp said following the 28-12 loss to Wake Forest. "That's just something we just got to own up to, there's no more hiding from it."
The defense deserves its flowers. This unit, one that is completely overhauled from a season ago, has made drastic improvements throughout the 2025 season. As the weeks go on, the defense has gotten stronger, as this was a top-30 ranked defensive unit leading up to the Wake Forest game.
On the offensive side of the ball, we haven't seen that progression we all were hoping for.
Jordan Shipp isn't being utilized enough
Shipp is the perfect example of why the offense hasn't been operating well. Clearly the team's best wide receiver, you can not afford for him to touch the ball only four times in a game. North Carolina has to get the ball in their best playmakers hands, something that Freddie Kitchens and the offensive staff have failed miserably to do.
You can't blame Shipp for being frustrated- he's a competitor who stuck around Chapel Hill to be part of the rebuild of the program. He sees exactly what is going on: the Tar Heels defense is making strides of improvement while the offense hasn't picked up the slack on its end.
In fact, nothing Shipp said was wrong: hopefully his call-out of the offense sparks some type of improvement leading into the final two weeks of the regular season.
