The UNC women's basketball program's non-conference schedule is shaping up to be an extremely competitive one!

After it was reported that the Tar Heels would take on UCLA as part of a two-game event in Las Vegas, we found out the pairing for the third annual ACC/SEC Challenge.

To no surprise, North Carolina is matched up with one of the best teams in the SEC, a squad that is coming off a trip to the Final Four a season ago.

The UNC women's basketball program will hit the road to take on the Texas Longhorns. That game is scheduled to be played on December 4 and should be one of the marquee games of the ACC/SEC Challenge.

There's not much history between the two programs, as they've only met once prior to this upcoming duel. The two programs previously met in 1981 in Chapel Hill, a game which resulted in a 75-73 victory for North Carolina.

Now, the Tar Heels will take on the Longhorns in Austin for the first-time ever.

Coming off a 35-4 season, a year that was ended by South Carolina in the Final Four, Texas has aspirations of getting back to this point. They will be led by rising junior Madison Booker, one of the best players in the entire country. She earned first-team All-American and SEC Player of the Year honors as a sophomore while also earning the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year award.

Needless to say, it will be a great test for the UNC women's basketball program.

Courtney Banghart and the Tar Heels have never backed down from a competition. In fact, they have gone above-and-beyond in an effort to compete against the country's best throughout non-conference action.

With what we know now, the Tar Heels will battle against half of last year's Final Four. Those two games alone are going to make North Carolina's non-conference schedule one of the toughest that any team has to face before they get into conference action.
