A West Coast trip is never easy, especially when you're accustomed to the East Coast vibes.
However, the change in time didn't affect the UNC women's basketball program as they've been tabbed as the Team of the Week by the US Basketball Writers Association.

The trip out west began with a top-25 battle against No. 19-ranked California. One of the better shooting teams in the country, Cal was limited by the Tar Heels defensive effort, connecting on just five of 17 attempts from beyond the arc. North Carolina secured a 13-point victory over the Golden Bears, another statement victory for Courtney Banghart's team.
Following the win over Cal, North Carolina had a Sunday afternoon battle with Stanford on the schedule before heading back home. While the Cardinals certainly tested the Tar Heels, North Carolina secured a two-point victory, ending the short trip out west on a very positive note.
I wasn’t sure any team would go out west and sweep both Cal & Stanford this season, but @uncwbb just did! This UNC team looks built to go on a run in March 🐏

North Carolina had a tough task at hand but found a way to get the job done. Both wins certainly help boost their NCAA Tournament resume, as the victory over Cal serves as yet another top-25 win for Banghart and the Tar Heels.
It's great to see the UNC women's basketball program earning some recognition for their efforts. The Tar Heels have put together an outstanding season thus far, but as Banghart will tell you- this group still has plenty to play for over the final stretch of the regular season leading into postseason action.
