You know college basketball season is right around the corner when the conference schedules start to get released!

On Wednesday, the Atlantic Coast Conference revealed the women's basketball schedules for the 2026-2027 campaign. This bit of news officially finalizes the schedule that Courtney Banghart and the Tar Heels will compete against this upcoming season.

Here's a hint: ACC play starts and ends with rivalry games for North Carolina!

UNC's conference schedule features some big-time tests

While non-conference action will be nearing completion, conference play will overlap the final month of the calendar year for the UNC women's basketball program.

Conference play officially opens up on December 13 when the Tar Heels host in-state foe NC State in Chapel Hill. North Carolina will host Georgia Tech (December 17) and travel to Syracuse (December 31) before the calendar year comes to a close.

Overall, the Tar Heels will play 9 conference games at Carmichael Arena and will play the remaining 9 on the road. Along with the Wolfpack, North Carolina will also be visited by the likes of Notre Dame, Duke and Virginia, while trips to Louisville, the West Coast (a two-game trip to take on Cal and Stanford) along with a regular season finale meeting with Duke in Durham, highlight the road contests for the team in Carolina blue.

The combination of both non-conference and conference games give the Tar Heels plenty of opportunities to prove where they stand against some of the nation's top programs. North Carolina wants to elevate to that next level, not settling for the past success they've had in recent seasons, but they aim to be even better not only this year, but moving forward as well.

One way to help take your program to that next step is by playing against the very best, something that the Tar Heels will do throughout the entire 2026-2027 season.

While the roster has a new look, the same goals and expectations are still very much in place. Banghart and her staff have once again done a tremendous job of putting together a top-25 ranked caliber roster, one that could burst into the top-10 if all goes according to plan. All eyes will be on the Tar Heels as they aim to not only make noise in the ACC, but also position themselves to make a very deep postseason run come March.
