The women's basketball AP Preseason Top 25 poll was released on Tuesday, a ranking that includes Courtney Banghart and the UNC women's basketball program.

North Carolina comes in at No. 15 in the preseason rankings, as the Tar Heels are one of six ACC programs to make the cut.

At the current moment, the UNC women's basketball schedule is loaded with matchups (and potential ones) against top 25 squads:

UConn- No. 2
Notre Dame- No. 6
NC State- No. 9
Duke- No. 11
Baylor- No. 12 (potentially in the Battle 4 Atlantis)
Louisville- No. 17
Florida State- No. 19
Kentucky- No. 22
Indiana No. 25 (potentially in the Battle 4 Atlantis)

While this year's roster features some new faces, the UNC women's basketball program also has some key returners back in the mix. Alyssa Ustby looks to anchor this year's squad while former transfers Lexi Donarski and Maria Gakdeng look to continue making major impacts in their second season on campus.

Unlike the men's poll, which only features two ACC teams in the initial rankings, the women's side is full of quality teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference. One of those teams is the UNC women's basketball program, a unit that features a ton of talent and has high expectations heading into the new season.
