UNC Women's Basketball claims Battle 4 Atlantis Championship title!

Just when we thought the UNC women's basketball program's semi-final victory in the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament over Villanova was impressive, the Tar Heels upped it in the finals against Indiana!

North Carolina made it RAIN from beyond-the-arc en route to a 30-point victory over the Hoosiers. The Tar Heels will return to Chapel Hill with some early season hardware to add to their eventual NCAA Tournament resume.

A close game through the first quarter of play, the UNC women's basketball program started to heat up in the second quarter. Trayanna Crisp knocked down some shots from beyond-the-arc, helping lead the Tar Heels to a six-point lead at the half.

The third quarter was simply owned by North Carolina.

The Tar Heels pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Hoosiers 22-7 over the first ten minutes of the second half. That was a deficit that was too much for the Hoosiers to handle, as the UNC women's basketball claimed the Battle 4 Atlantis title.

Indiana came into the game with a reputation for getting to the free throw line. After going to the line 19 times in the semi-finals, the Hoosiers only attempted five free throws in the title game, a credit to North Carolina's defense being able to avoid making costly fouls.

Additionally, the Tar Heels forced 16 turnovers, holding the Hoosiers to just 29.1% overall from the floor.

North Carolina had no issue making shots, shooting the basketball at a 42.6% clip. They drained a season-high 11 three-pointers, as the combination of Crisp and Ciera Toomey accounted for eight of them.

Crisp was the star off the bench for the UNC women's basketball program, tying Indya Nivar for the most points in the game (15). Toomey finished with 9 points while Alyssa Ustby was a point shy of another double-double performance.

The weekend couldn't have gone better for the UNC women's basketball program as they made a huge statement during their trip to The Bahamas.
