The heat is on for four-star guard Jalen Davis.

Ahead of his final official visit to Gonzaga this weekend, Davis has revealed his list of finalists as his recruitment heads toward the finish line. Michael Malone and the UNC basketball program have heavily recruited Davis and have positioned themselves to make a legitimate push for the Class of 2027 point guard.

UNC makes Jalen Davis' Final Four

The Tar Heels are one of the four teams that Davis is still considering. In order to earn a commitment from him, Malone and UNC will need to hold off his other finalists: Gonzaga, UCLA, and Washington.

One of the top overall guards in the Class of 2027, Davis has been heavily linked to the Tar Heels as of late. He made an official visit to Chapel Hill in early November, and the Carolina blue uniform sure seems to fit the talented four-star recruit.

There's a lot to love about Davis' game, as Rivals National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw provides a great breakdown of what type of player he is:

“Davis has positional size, but he is also comfortable on or off the ball. With his length, he has some sneaky speed with the ball in his hands and can really put pressure on the defense in the open floor. He is also a quality shooter from three-point range. As he cleans up his footwork and continues to work on his reads, there is real upside here with his natural abilities and physical gifts.”

With DeMarcus Henry already in the fold, you can expect the Tar Heels to still have plenty of work to do in this recruiting class. UNC has been linked to a handful of guards in this recruiting class, including Beckham Black and Nasir Anderson. Still, it appears the Tar Heels are fading on both recruits as other prospects start to get priority treatment from Malone and his coaching staff.

Jalen Davis is one of those players who now seems to be a priority target for UNC.

Of course, Davis has one official visit left: a trip to Gonzaga this upcoming weekend. However, UNC seems in a good spot in Davis' recruitment, as a commitment from him could definitely be on the horizon during the upcoming early signing period.

This is a recruitment UNC fans need to keep an eye on, as Davis might just be the next player Malone and company add to their 2027 recruiting class. The competition for his services is steep, but, as we learned with Henry's recruitment, UNC will do everything they can to get the guys they want.

Now, the full-court press will be on to land a commitment from the Bremerton, Washington native. At this point, UNC has to feel rather confident that they can once again get the job done.
