The ACC released its Friday night availability report for UNC's Halloween showdown against No. 1 Miami with no major surprises.
At this point, that might be considered good news for the Tar Heels.
North Carolina will once again be without defensive back Tre Miller, defensive linemen Viliami Moala, Vodney Cleveland, and Jimmy-Phrisco Alo-Suliafu, along with wide receiver Keeyun Chapman. All five were ruled out earlier in the week and remained out in Friday's update.
Miller's absence continues to hurt the Tar Heels' secondary, as the defensive back hasn't played since UNC's matchup against Pittsburgh earlier this month.
Although few players were ruled out, North Carolina still has four names to monitor leading up to kickoff.
Defensive back Peyton Waters, linebacker Jonathan Agumadu, and offensive linemen Jordan Hall and Andrew Threatt are all listed as questionable.
Waters' status is especially worth watching given the challenge North Carolina's defense will face against the nation's No. 1-ranked team. The Tar Heels would certainly welcome another experienced defensive back against a Miami offense capable of creating explosive plays.
The offensive line also remains an area to monitor.
Hall returned to action against Syracuse after previously missing time, while Threatt played 30 snaps in the Tar Heels' loss to the Orange. Having both available would give North Carolina much-needed stability up front against a talented Miami defensive front.
There was, however, one encouraging development from the earlier availability report.
Defensive lineman Zavion Griffin-Haynes, who was previously listed as questionable, does not appear on Friday's report. Under the ACC's availability reporting system, players not listed are considered available, giving North Carolina another option on a defense already missing several players.
Miami, meanwhile, will be without six players: wide receiver Joshua Moore, running back CharMar Brown, defensive backs Ja'Boree Antoine and Romanas "OJ" Frederique Jr., offensive lineman Max Buchanan, and tight end Luka Gilbert.
Ultimately, Friday night's update didn't provide any last-minute bombshells for either side.
For North Carolina, the attention now turns toward the four Tar Heels carrying questionable designations and whether any of them will be cleared to play.
The ACC will release a final availability report two hours before kickoff, which should confirm who UNC will have available when the Tar Heels take their shot at the nation's No. 1 team.
