Stop us if you've heard this before, but North Carolina and Hubert Davis have seen their postseason outlook change in a big way due to the Caleb Wilson injury. Wilson, a fan-favorite freshman, is out for the rest of the year due to his broken thumb.

Seth Trimble shares stern message Hubert Davis sent UNC that can't be ignored

We were given a sneak peak of what the Tar Heels will look like without him, as UNC took the short drive to Durham on Saturday to face off with Duke. After a strong first half, the Heels collapsed in the final 20 minutes of play and a blowout loss was posted.

That performance appears to have turned the heads of the oddsmakers in Vegas, but not in a good way. The ACC Tournament title odds were recently updated and while Duke remains the big-time favorite, North Carolina saw its odds take a dive, with the Tar Heels currently listed at +2500 per the FanDuel Sportsbook.

Caleb Wilson injury: UNC's ACC title hopes took a dive without the freshman star

What's so disappointing here is that the +2500 number for the Heels are the fifth-best among teams in the conference - UNC is behind Duke, Virginia, Louisville and Miami. With Wilson, there's no doubt in our minds that this group would be able to push for a conference title.

Without him, though, and it sure feels like the Chapel Hill side will be playing with its back against the wall. Wilson's injury really just came at the worst time. Per multiple reports, he got hurt last Thursday in his return to practice, injuring himself during a non-contact drill on a dunk.

He was looking strong in his recovery from his injured left hand and the hope was that he was going to be able to play against Duke. That didn't happen, as he hurt his other hand and now we've likely seen the last of him playing for Carolina. Not having him for the ACC Tournament and Big Dance is a major bummer for Davis and his coaching staff.
