The UNC football program suffered a significant loss to its offensive line unit, as Noah Weiskopf of Tar Heel 247 revealed that Chad Lindberg will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2025 season due to a left arm injury.

The redshirt senior suffered the injury in the second quarter against Syracuse and has been in a sling since.

Lindberg suffered the injury to his left arm during the Tar Heels' victory over Syracuse last weekend. He was forced to leave the game after playing just 31 snaps.
A redshirt senior, Lindberg was brought in as a transfer from Rice. He was one of the handful of additions made to the offensive line unit, a group that needed a full-blown makeover in Bill Belichick's first season at the helm.
During training camp, Lindberg was moved to center, a position he never played prior during his college career. This move was made when both Austin Blaske and Christo Kelly went down with injuries, forcing the Tar Heels to shuffle pieces around its offensive line.
How does UNC fill the void?
After Lindberg left the Syracuse game, North Carolina proceeded to slide Blaske back to his natural position. A pair of redshirt sophomores, Jordan Hall and Miles McVay, earned reps at the tackle positions.
Of course, the UNC football program will shuffle pieces around to find the right formula moving forward. It helps to have an experienced center in Blaske to take back the position, and it is also beneficial for the program to have depth to work with as they piece the puzzle back together.
Remember, this was a team who played anywhere from 9-10 offensive lineman during the first few weeks of the 2025 season. While injuries have hampered them a bit, there's still plenty of talent for them to work with.
Hopefully, Lindberg is able to rehab back to full strength. While his college career might be over, the hope is that he can continue playing at the professional ranks once he returns from injury.
