Heading into the offseason, the UNC football program knew they had a glaring need along the entire offensive line.
The Tar Heels are set to lose the offensive linemen who accounted for 3,150 of the offense's 3,351 snaps a season ago, as there is a need to bring in multiple guys to help reload at the position.
With the transfer portal open for business, the UNC football program has already scheduled a visit with a veteran offensive linemen who features a ton of versatility.
Charleston Southern offensive lineman Andrew Threatt will make an official visit to Chapel Hill on Saturday. Threatt, a Chesterfield, South Carolina native, confirmed to the Keeping It Heel team that he will be on campus this upcoming weekend.

More on Andrew Threatt
Threatt is a 6-foot-3, 315-pound presence who has accumulated a ton of collegiate experience during his time at Charleston Southern. Making 32 consecutive starts, Threatt played in over 1,500 snaps, seeing time at the guard and tackle positions. He ranked as the 12th-best tackle in the FCS (according to PFF), and was tabbed as a first-team All-Conference selection.
Versatility
In Bill Belichick's first season at the helm, we saw the UNC football program mix and match along the offensive line.
The Tar Heels utilized 9-10 different linemen, most of which played multiple positions, as North Carolina aimed to find the right mix to help pave the way for the offensive attack.
Through the transfer portal (once again), the UNC football program will be tasked with rebuilding its entire offensive line. A player like Threatt, who comes with one season of eligibility remaining, makes a lot of sense for North Carolina, given he can help be an answer to the current problem and could fill various roles based on how the rest of the offensive line shapes up.
Experience is a valuable thing, and that's something Threatt comes with a lot of. It will be interesting to see if the UNC football program can convince him quickly to play out his final season of eligibility in Chapel Hill.
