Now that some time has passed for North Carolina basketball following the loss to Ole Miss on Friday night, some things are starting to set for the fanbase. Some people are livid with Hubert Davis after the early exit, while others are starting to get sad about seniors who are on their way out.

This includes North Carolina great RJ Davis, who just wrapped up five memorable years suiting up for the program. The All-American guard will now return to Chapel Hill and get ready for his future as a pro - the thought of his playing days being over with UNC is tough to accept for many.

While he has an exciting future, now is the time to thank him for what he was able to get done with the Heels. Armando Bacot didn't hesitate in sending him well wishes following the heartbreaking loss to the Rebels too:

It indeed is the end of an era, as Davis was the last player on the current roster who had played for both Roy Williams and Hubert Davis. Bacot and RJ Davis played for several years together, with Bacot playing with the team from 2019-2024.

The two were members of the 2021-2022 squad that stunned the country by reaching the National Championship Game. En route to the title showdown, UNC took down Duke in the Final Four, which was one of the most electric wins in recent history. Unfortunately, a loss then came with the trophy on the line.

Despite that, it was a memorable season for the Heels and it was one of the many highlights for RJ Davis with this team. After the final whistle against Ole Miss, he didn't mince words in saying that his time playing for UNC and representing the university were the best five years of his life.

Since then, countless fans have been showering him with love on social media. He deserves all of the praise he's getting right now. Things didn't go to plan for this team in the Big Dance, but nothing takes away from how special RJ Davis was for this group. He'll always be known as someone who gave his all for UNC.
