Bill Belichick and the UNC football program are set to host a massive transfer offensive lineman prospect early on in the new year.
According to Steve Wiltfong of On3, Prairie View A&M offensive tackle William Boone will visit North Carolina on January 2. The 6-foot-7, 340 pound lineman previously visited San Diego State and will take a trip to Boulder to visit Deion Sanders and Colorado the day after his visit to Chapel Hill.
The UNC football program has made an emphasis on adding talent in the trenches, looking to bring in both offensive and defensive line depth. While three transfer offensive linemen have already committed to North Carolina, the job doesn't seemed finished, as Belichick and his staff are still looking to add big bodies up front.
Boone is coming off a season in which he didn't allow a sack. What's enticing about his availability is that he has two seasons of eligibility remaining, making him a potential multi-year solution at one of the spots along the offensive line.
Belichick has stated that there's still more work to be done, as the transfer portal is expected to be crazy throughout the month of January. Expect the UNC football program to be right in the mix among all this chaos, as the new regime looks to bring in more talent to beef up the 2025 roster.
