It's been well-known that the UNC football program needed to rebuild its offensive line unit this offseason.

The Tar Heels took another step in doing so, claiming a transfer offensive lineman who previously played for Clemson.

Rowan Byrne commits to North Carolina

Bryne, a 6-foot-5, 295-pounder from Bronville, New York, didn't see much action as a member of the Tigers. In one game, Byrne played two snaps, leading to a redshirt season. He will have four seasons of eligibility to work with once he arrives on campus.

A high-three-star prospect in the Class of 2025, Byrne ranked as the No. 67 overall offensive lineman in his class. While the opportunity wasn't there for him at Clemson, the hope is that he can develop into a multi-year contributor for the UNC football program.

Another transfer offensive lineman added to the mix

Bryne becomes the fourth offensive lineman transfer commitment for the UNC football program. He joins Shaq McRoy (Arkansas), Sean Thompkins (Baylor), and Andrew Threatt (Charleston Southern) as the incoming transfers from this positional group.
