Don't you just love how Bill Belichick and the UNC football program are bringing in Class of 2026 recruits on a daily basis!

For the fifth consecutive day, the Tar Heels have earned another Class of 2026 commitment, landing talented defensive back prospect Xavier Jackson.

Jackson, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound corner from Oradell, New Jersey, plays his high school football for Bergen Catholic, the reigning four-time state champion in one of the toughest conferences that the country has to offer. He ranks as the No. 9 prospect in the state of New Jersey and is considered a three-star prospect by 247Sports.

The path to Chapel Hill was a rather quick one for Jackson, who chose UNC over Minnesota, Pittsburgh, and Temple. After Bill Belichick visited Bergen Catholic during his high school tour in January, the Tar Heels stayed in touch, ultimately extending an offer on June 8.

Over the month of June, Jackson made his official visits tour, making a last-minute switch to get a trip to Chapel Hill on his schedule. Instead of visiting Michigan State, the rising senior elected to visit North Carolina, one that helped seal the deal in his recruitment.

Jackson went in-depth with Inside Carolina regarding how important his visit to Chapel Hill was in his recruitment:

"The official visit played a huge role. It gave me a chance to really connect with the staff and players, see the facilities, and get a feel for what life would be like in Chapel Hill. After that weekend, I knew I could see myself thriving there on and off the field."

Over the last five days, North Carolina has earned six commitments. Based on the recent recruiting success, it doesn't appear that the UNC football program is done, as this recruiting class continues to shape up as one of the best among the entire country.
