UNC Football not giving up on its pursuit of in-state stud Kendre Harrison

While he's verbally committed to Oregon, Bill Belichick and the UNC football program are still looking to flip his commitment.

On January 26, four-star multi-sport athlete Kendre Harrison stated that he's still "locked in" to his commitment to Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks.

We're starting to believe that it's still very much open for debate.

On Friday, Bill Belichick and the UNC football program made a trip to Reidsville High School to visit some recruiting targets, including none other than Kendre Harrison.

While visiting him shows that the UNC football program isn't giving up hope, Harrison, the No. 1-ranked tight end prospect in the Class of 2026, provided a glimmer of hope when he shared the below photo with him and Belichick on social media on Friday night.

You know what they say, where there's smoke, there's fire.

As someone who is "locked in" to their commitment to another school, I necessarily wouldn't be posting a photo with a head coach from another school. Sure, taking a photo with a six-time Super Bowl champion coach is cool, but sharing it on social media seems rather interesting to me.

We all know that recruiting can change in the blink of an eye. Student-athletes often have a change of heart and decide to flip their commitment. With a good amount of time before he actually has to sign, Harrison's recruitment could still be quietly open, as the UNC football program still has a chance to convince one of the state's top talents to stay home and become a Tar Heel.

Given he wants to play both basketball and football, Harrison could be the next Julius Peppers to make his way through Chapel Hill. We all know how that turned out for Peppers, the now NFL Hall of Famer.

Until he officially signs on the dotted line with Oregon, I believe there's a chance that Belichick and the UNC football program can sway his decision before its all said and done.
