The UNC football program has made a HUGE splash in the transfer portal.
Former Washington Husky Thaddeus Dixon has officially committed to Bill Belichick and the UNC football program. The 6-foot-1 cornerback becomes the fourth former Husky to join the Tar Heels this offseason.
Dixon was widely considered one of the top available players in the transfer portal, including one of (if not the) best at his position. In two seasons at Washington, Dixon recorded 69 Tackles, 16 pass defensed, 1 forced fumble and two interceptions, as his addition to the Tar Heels' secondary should reap immediate benefits.
With Steve Belichick following his father to Chapel Hill, it was expected that some of his former players would aspire to make their way to North Carolina as well. Belichick led one of the top defenses in the entire country, a unit that features a ton of talent and depth. Now, some of that talent will be heading to North Carolina, as Dixon is a big-time addition for the UNC football program.
The secondary will have a whole-new look next season, which could be a good thing given the team's struggles at the position over the last few seasons. With Alijah Huzzie exhausting his eligibility, the Tar Heels were in need of some more talent at the position, as Dixon is a guy who should be interested at the top of the depth chart immediately when he arrives at his new home.
