Conroy is a three-star offensive lineman from the Class of 2026. Following an official visit to North Carolina, the IMG Academy standout changed his mind about where his future home is, backing out of his commitment he gave to Oklahoma on December 16, 2024.
Remember when Bill Belichick was making high school stops across the country a few months back? Well, that seemed to spark Conroy's interest in the UNC football program, propelling him to visit for a practice in March while following that up with an official visit to campus very recently.
Heading into his high school senior season, Conroy is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 23-ranked interior offensive lineman among his graduating class. He becomes the UNC football program's 21st commitment within the 2026 recruiting class, and serves as the sixth offensive lineman from this group to pledge to the Tar Heels.
Give credit where credit is due: Michael Lombardi, Bill Belichick, and the UNC football program have been putting in the work on the recruiting trail. Not only did the Tar Heels bring in an influx of talent via the transfer portal, but they have also been putting together one of the best high school recruiting classes in the country as well.
It's funny: the noise about Belichick not being fully committed to the UNC football program has quickly died down! It seems that people are finally starting to realize that Belichick is committed to turning this program around.
