With the current state of the UNC football program being what it is, there wasn't much to expect for North Carolina on Wednesday's Early Signing Period (National Signing Day).

While some commits decided to honor their original pledge, one was on the verge of heading elsewhere.

However, following a last-minute decision, Javion Butts realized that Chapel Hill is where he wants to call his college football home.

After visiting Missouri this weekend, all signs pointed toward the three-star safety flipping his pledge to the Tigers. Inside Carolina reported that the Tar Heels held on to Butts, holding off Missouri in this tight recruiting battle.

Inside Carolina's report provides all the details you need to know.

The UNC football program now has five players who have signed their respective agreements on Wednesday, as the new head coach will have his work cut out for him once he takes over the reins. It's good to see that some of the Class of 2025 commits have elected to remain with the program, even during a period where everything seems to be changing in Chapel Hill.
