The Elite 11 Quarterback Competition is an annual event that is held for high school quarterbacks. It's aimed at identifying and developing the country's top signal-callers in preparation for their eventual arrival on the college football scene.

North Carolina has been represented at this event in the past, most recently by Drake Maye and Bryce Baker (who attended the event a year ago). Now, UNC football commit Travis Burgess is competing alongside some of the country's best, proving that he more than belongs.

During the Night 2 Pro Day, Burgess was absolutely on target, completing 18 of his 20 passes. He was able to sling the football accurately across all three levels of the field, proving to be one of the standouts on the second day of the event.

"North Carolina four-star commit Travis Burgess turned in a very strong pro day session just now. Impressive zip and was accurate to all three levels. He finishes 18/20 on target for the night." — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

The UNC football program has had its share of elite quarterbacks come through the program. From the likes of Mitch Trubisky to Sam Howell and Drake Maye, North Carolina has proven the ability to send quarterbacks to the NFL.

Now, with Bill Belichick at the helm, you'd expect that this trend will continue.

With Baker arriving on campus this year to Burgess making his way to Chapel Hill a year from now, the quarterback position for the UNC football program appears to be in a very good place. Burgess continues to make noise, proving that he should be considered one of the best quarterback prospects that the Class of 2026 has to offer.
