When Hubert Davis took over as the head coach of the UNC basketball program, one of the most iconic 'senior night' traditions was removed from the regularly scheduled program.
Tar Heel fans loved to hear the senior members of the program address the crowd following their final home game at the Dean Smith Center. Who doesn't still tear up hearing Marcus Paige's amazing speech that he delievered on his senior night?!
The tradition returns!
The program announced that this tradition would return, as both Seth Trimble and Elijah Davis will address the home crowd after their final home game as Tar Heels.

Why the sudden return?
On his weekly radio show on Monday night, Hubert Davis credited his two seniors for bringing back the post game senior speeches. He admitted that both players wanted to say a few words to the crowd following Tuesday's game against Clemson.

Get the tissues ready
For Trimble, he might just be the last four-year guy we ever see compete for the UNC basketball program.
As crazy as that sounds, it might just be reality, given what we're seeing with the current landscape of college athletics. For someone like Trimble who grew up dreaming of being a Tar Heel, his speech has the potential to be among the best we've ever heard, as he, and his whole family, bleed Carolina Blue.
For Davis, being a Tar Heel is in his blood too. Following his great-uncle Walter and father Hubert's path to Chapel Hill, Elijah didn't have the type of career like they did, but you sure know he embraced every minute of being a member of the UNC basketball program.
This was a great decision by the program to bring the senior speeches back, as the hope is that this tradition will continue on as it did for so many years prior to the start of the Hubert Davis era.
