After a 6-5 start to the 2025-2026 season, the Chicago Bulls are in need of a spark.
The good news for them is that one is on the way!
Shams Charania of ESPN reported that former UNC basketball star Coby White is expected to make his season debut tonight as the Bulls take on the Utah Jazz.

White was forced to miss the first 11 games of the season due to a calf injury. Coming off a career year, this season is even more important for the former Tar Heel, who is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent this summer. He is in the final season of a three-year, $36 million dollar deal.
Last season, White took his game to a higher level. The Goldsboro, North Carolina native averaged a career-high 20.4 points per game over 74 games played, as the last two seasons have solidified his role in the Bulls' starting backcourt.
Now entering his seventh (yes, seventh) NBA season, White looks to be even better in what could be his final season in Chicago.
A 25-year-old bucket getter who provides a huge spark and has plenty of basketball left in the tank will be enticing if he does make it to free agency, as it is very possible that White could nearly triple the amount of money he'd earned over this current contract. He is a perfect fit in the style of today's NBA, as he can create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates while having the above-average ability of being able to push the basketball in transition.
Although the calf injury was a bit of a setback, there's plenty of time left in the 2025-2026 season for White to make a major comeback. With his team losing four consecutive games, the hope is that White can help them get back on track, one that had them starting the season with a strong 6-1 record.
Have no fear, Coby White is back, and Tar Heel fans will be excited to see him in action once again.
