UPDATE: Culliver will not return due to what is being called a shoulder injury.

Original Story

Chris Culliver made his presence known right out of the gate on Saturday night, connecting on a 51-yard score on the third play of the game to give North Carolina an early lead.

Culliver was putting together a strong first half, putting together 74 receiving yards on three catches. The latest reception left fans of the UNC football program holding their breath, as the junior wide receiver was in some serious pain.

In what looked to be a left arm/shoulder injury, Culliver needed assistance getting up off the field. He was escorted to the locker room and did not return to finish up the second half.

The Tar Heels can't afford to lose a guy like Culliver, especially given his role in the offense early on against Charlotte. Hopefully, the injury isn't as severe as it looked, but based on the initial look, it would be a surprise to see him return to this game.
