Clemson announced on social media that the lightning warning has been extended until at least 5:00 PM EST. Although it wasn't raining before the announcement, it started raining at Memorial Stadium shortly after.

At this point, it wouldn't be surprising to see this time get pushed back even more. We could be in for an extended delay.

Another week, another weather delay that the UNC football program has to navigate through.
With just over eight minutes remaining in their game against Clemson, the Tar Heels were driving down the field and were deep inside Clemson territory. Facing second down and seven, the game was halted due to a lightning delay, as inclement weather was surrounding the area.
Holding a two-point lead, UNC definitely didn't want their best scoring chance of the second half to be delayed, but, of course, player and fan safety remains at the forefront of all decisions.
