On Wednesday, as part of early signing day for high school student athletes, two Class of 2025 four-star recruits officially joined the UNC basketball family.

Combo-guard Derek Dixon has officially signed his agreement to join the Tar Heels. The 6-foot-3 guard from Washington, DC is viewed by 247Sports as a four-star recruit and the No. 51 overall ranked player in the Class of 2025.

In an official press release from the University of North Carolina, Hubert Davis had great things to say about his newly-signed guard:

"Derek is a complete basketball player that will make an immediate impact on the court, off the court and in the classroom. He has the ability to shoot, pass and defend at an elite level."

Another combo-guard has also joined the Carolina family, as in-state product Isaiah Denis also signed his scholarship agreement with the University of North Carolina. The 6-foot-5 guard from Davidson, North Carolina, is viewed by 247Sports as a four-star prospect and the No. 47-ranked prospect in the Class of 2025.

In his statement regarding Denis, Hubert Davis raved about his athleticism and versatility.

"Isaiah is an athletic wing that can score on all three levels and will immediately give us the versatility needed out there on the floor. He's a great student and it means something to him to play in his home state."

While there's still time to add to the 2025 recruiting class, the Tar Heels got what they set out to get right away: two quality guards. With RJ Davis set to graduate and others potentially departing for the NBA Draft, the Tar Heels needed to add some depth in the backcourt and accomplished that by landing two quality players who want to be the next great pair of guards to put on the Carolina blue uniform.
