It was already known that this year's squad would feature a whole-new look from a season ago. North Carolina's latest roster includes 16 players: five players who were on previous Tar Heel teams, three incoming freshmen, six college transfers and one international addition.
Seth Trimble is the obvious headliner among the entire roster leading up to his senior season. He is joined by Zayden High, James Brown, Elijah Davis and John Holbrook among the returning players.
We now officially know the new jersey numbers for each of the program's six transfer additions. Here's a look at what numbers some of the newest Tar Heels will be sporting this season:
Kyan Evans- No. 0
Jaydon Young- No. 4
Jonathan Powell- No. 11
Henri Veesaar- No. 13
Jarin Stevenson- No. 15
Ivan Matlekovic- 40
Luka Bogavac, the highly-regarded international transfer, is slated to wear No. 44 for the UNC basketball program, a number that was last worn by a very notable Tar Heel back in 2017.
In regard to the incoming freshman class, it was previously revealed that Caleb Wilson would be donning the No. 8. Derek Dixon and Isaiah Denis will both be wearing single-digit numbers, as Dixon claimed No. 3 while Denis will be wearing No. 5.
To round out the roster, Evan Smith, a player from last season's JV squad, will be wearing the No. 32 in his first season on the varsity roster.
It will be weird to see another player wearing No. 4, as we've grown so accustomed to RJ Davis rocking the uniform. However, it is a sign of the times in Chapel Hill, given that there has been a major roster overhaul heading into the new season.
The roster reveal just adds another level of anticipation ahead of the 225-2026 season.
