While a lot of the focus for the North Carolina Tar Heels of late has been on Hubert Davis looking for some wing help, don't let that take away from the excitement surrounding the future playmakers. Caleb Wilson will be in Chapel Hill before we know it and he's one of the best players in the country for his class.
When Wilson committed to UNC, fans were overcome with joy - he's a big-time get. Before he makes his way to campus too, the 5-star signee is working overtime in getting his mind and body ready. Caleb Wilson looks the part of a 5-star playmaker in new offseason workout
This kid just looks like a natural stud, right? Wilson knows there are going to be monster expectations for him when he makes the move to ACC country, but he's ready to get his college career going. He has all the tools to be a real difference-maker from the moment he sets foot on campus.
He's also going to be providing UNC with scoring help the roster needs right now. With Drake Powell off to the NBA and now expected to be a first-round pick, it's all but closing the door on his potential return. He has until June to withdraw his name from the draft, but it's not feeling likely he'll do that.
Late last month, Davis and Co. were dealt a tough blow too when Andrej Stojakovic committed to Illinois over the Tar Heels and Stanford. Davis is still looking for extra wing help, but Wilson is UNC-bound and he's going to play beyond his years in 2025-26.
The 6-9 standout is the No. 3 PF in the country and No. 6 prospect nationally according to the 247Sports Composite. UNC won a massive recruiting battle to land him and now he'll be ready to shine with the bright lights on him.
