We've reached the final stretch of four-star forward Cameron Holmes' recruitment, as there are only three teams left in the race.

The UNC basketball program has earned a spot among the finalist, joining Arizona and Dayton among the schools still in consideration. While Joe Tipton of Rivals revealed the news, he also let it know that Holmes will be committing this Sunday, November 9.

Before trimming his list down to three schools, Holmes was also considering schools such as Gonzaga, Illinois, Oklahoma, and Texas (among others).

Remember: Dayton might have the advantage in this particular recruitment, given his older brother, DaRon was a star for the program during his recent college career. However, don't count out Arizona, another program who has made a heavy push to earn a commitment from the 6-foot-6 wing.

"4-star SF Cam Holmes (2026) is a connector. And there is something to be said about a player who can step into different roles, with different teammates, and still find a way to help the team. Holmes was aggressive throughout the weekend. He made a few noticeable hustle plays each session on defense, while moving the ball, stretching the floor in transition, and knocking down a couple corner threes. Holmes does not provide much self-creation at this point and is not a dynamic shooter, but he can elevate the floor of a team while morphing across a lineup in different roles."

This would be a major addition for the UNC basketball program, especially given that they have yet to land a committment within the 2026 recruiting class. The Tar Heels might not be the favorites up to this point, but it would be wise not to fully count them out until the final decision is made.
