An SEC bias controlled the top four seeds of this year's tournament.

After winning the ACC Tournament this past weekend, the UNC baseball program was expected to be a top-four national seed for the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

However, the SEC bias committee had other plans!

The UNC baseball program is the highest ranked Non-SEC squad, coming in at No. 5 overall. They still have the chance to host the Super Regionals if they were to advance past the Chapel Hill Regional.

Who else is in the Chapel Hill Region? Don't worry, we got you covered!

Oklahoma, Nebraska and Holy Cross are heading to Chapel Hill for the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The host Diamond Heels will take on No. 4 seeded Holy Cross while Oklahoma (the No. 2 seed in the region) and Nebraska (No. 3) will square off in the other opening round contest.

If you look at it from a bigger perspective, the bracket is favorable for the Diamond Heels. While the field is packed with three high-caliber teams, it's definitely better than what some of the other top seeds have to face in their regional gauntlet.

We anxiously awaited the official seedings to be released, as North Carolina put itself in a prime position to be one of the top overall ranked teams in the field. Now, the Diamond Heels will look to defend their home field, once again having the opportunity to not have to travel until an eventual trip to Omaha (which would be a very welcomed trip for Scott Forbes and the UNC baseball program).

Let the games begin! See you at the Bosh!
