Scott Forbes is here to stay!

The UNC baseball program announced that Forbes has agreed to a contract extension. The deal will will keep him at the helm through at least June 30, 2029.

Forbes, the reigning ACC Coach of the Year, led the Diamond Heels to a tremendous amount of success. The Diamond Heels are coming off their 12th College World Series appearance (and first since 2018), as he became the first coach in UNC baseball history to reach the postseason in each of his first four seasons as the skipper.

In those four seasons, Forbes has led the Tar Heels to a 154-89 record. The Diamond Heels have won ACC Coastal Division and ACC Tournament titles over that span.

Forbes has coached some tremendous individuals over his first four years on the job. Under Forbes' leadership, seven Tar Heels have received All-America honors, 16 have been named to an All-ACC team, and 17 have been selected in the MLB Draft.

Forbes ideally was the perfect fit for the job. A long-time assistant coach for the legendary Mike Fox, Forbes stepped into the manager's role and hasn't skipped a beat, leading the Diamond Heels back to national relevance.

This move makes a whole lot of sense for the UNC baseball program. Now that their leader is under contract at least until 2029, we'll have to wait and see what special things are ahead for the Diamond Heels.
