The 2025 college baseball regular season has officially come to a close!
Scott Forbes and the UNC baseball program finished off the regular season on a strong note, winning two of three games on the road against Florida State, the No. 2-ranked team in the country. While a sweep would have secured an ACC regular season crown for the Tar Heels, they'll certainly take the series, one in which no one felt they would win.

Game one was the battle of the aces, as Jake Knapp toed the rubber against Jamie Arnold, a player many believe could be the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft.
While Arnold draws all the headlines, Knapp continues to dominate, putting together a complete game gem in what will be his final regular season start as a Tar Heel.
Arnold wasn't his dominant self against the Tar Heels, as the offense was able to eat up his pitch count while putting some runs on the board. Gavin Gallaher's homer in the second inning got things started, while a three hit, four RBI performance from Jackson Van De Brake helped guide the Diamond Heels to a series opening victory.
In game two, the bats were alive and well for the Diamond Heels, putting together a seven inning mercy rule victory over the Seminoles.
Five Diamond Heels collected multiple hits in an 11-run, 13-hit outburst. Jason DeCaro, who has been excellent down the stretch, finished the regular season on a good note, tossing six innings while allowing just one run.
With a chance to capture the ACC regular season crown, North Carolina fell into an early hole. Down 3-0 after one inning of play, it took the Tar Heels a while to crawl back into this one. Facing a 3-1 deficit in the top of the seventh inning, Sawyer Black crushed a two run homer to tie the game, as Gavin Gallaher followed an inning later with a solo blast to give the Tar Heels their first lead of the game.
Unfortunately, the lead would't last long, as Florida State tacked on two runs in their half of the inning, putting them up for good.
Finishing the regular season with an impressive 39-12 record, the UNC baseball program secured a double-bye in this week's ACC Tournament in Durham. The Tar Heels, the No. 3 seed in the event, await the winner of Wednesday's second round meeting between Virginia and the winner of the first round clash between Notre Dame and Boston College.
