Tyler Hansbrough calls it as it is.

The legendary former Tar Heel doesn't shy away from the truth, even when it's not in favor of North Carolina. He was disgusted with Tuesday night's performance by UNC, a hangover-type performance that resulted in a loss to Miami on the road.

Appearing on The Field of 68 Podcast, Hansbrough talked about the Tar Heels' performance, rightfully calling out North Carolina for their latest lackluster performance.

Hansbrough doesn't hold back

Here's exactly what Hansbrough had to say on the matter:

" Thought about Miami, and to me it also says a lot about North Carolina. Be more consistent. If you wanna be a team that is a contender and being taken seriously, you can't have these letdowns. And you saw it when they took the California trip. They lost two games out there, kind of a head-scratcher. The way that they play defense tonight is the reason why they've lost these games.

When you play Olay Defense. And you know, you're just not in help side. Defense isn't engaged, and you're not playing one-on-one defense. You're not guarding your man, keeping the ball in front of you. You're letting Miami get quality looks, layups, and dunks. That was the whole thing to me. I felt like they controlled the interior.

They were getting high-quality shots. And anytime we got in the half-court sets, I thought we were a little stagnant. I felt like we held onto the ball, we kind of passed, looked around, waited for, you know, an action to happen, and then the same situation once we reversed the ball. Uh, but this whole game came down to not playing defense. Not getting rebounds and Miami just controlling the interior, getting what they wanted offensively, and dominating inside."

No lies being told

Let's face it: no one liked the performance North Carolina put together on Tuesday night.

Following the highest of highs type of win over Duke, the Tar Heels put together a lowest of the low type of effort just a few days later, as everyone is frustrated given how UNC has shown flashes of being a top-10 caliber team but have yet to fully be consistently that squad.

Hansbrough spoke no lies in his statement. Hopefully, the Tar Heels hear it and respond properly.
