Let's give Tyler Hansbrough his props: the dude absolutely nailed it when he said Michael Malone was a dark-horse candidate for the UNC basketball job!
The major news on Monday afternoon revolved around Chapel Hill, as Malone is set to be named the 20th head coach in North Carolina men's basketball history.
Of course, as with essentially everything in the social media world, fans are losing their minds over the hire, especially given that this was one that not many people expected!
For those of you who are initially upset over the news, just listen to what Hansbrough had to say. It's without a doubt going to make you feel a lot better about the hire.
Tyler Hansbrough loves the hiring of Michael Malone
"This is a great hire. North Carolina is going to be right back on the map, immediately. This is, in my opinion, an absolutely amazing hire" - @THANS50

As mentioned earlier, Hansbrough cited Malone as a "wildcard" candidate and spoke very highly of him when he made that, which we all thought at the time was a bold claim. However, Hansbrough must know more than 99.9% of the country who have been keeping extremely close tabs on this search.
Now that the hire is official, Hansbrough absolutely loves it.
"This is a great hire. North Carolina is going to be right back on the map, immediately. This is, in my opinion, an absolutely amazing hire."
Hansbrough firmly believes that Malone has what it takes to instantly put North Carolina back on the map. Even though he's been coaching in the NBA for quite some time, that isn't scaring Hansbrough away from believing that this guy can flat-out coach, putting the Tar Heels in the best position possible to win games.
"This is the most important hire in the history of North Carolina basketball. And I couldn't be more excited."
Time will tell if this is a good hire for North Carolina, but having Hansbrough, one of (if not the) greatest player to ever wear the Carolina Blue uniform), on board with it is definitely a great start.
A side note for future reference: when Tyler Hansbrough speaks, we all should listen!
