Two Nylas were far too much for Wake Forest to handle as UNC rolls on the road

The Demon Deacons had no answer for the duo of Nylas that UNC threw their way.

You know what they say: two Nylas are better than one!

Wake Forest certainly felt that way on Sunday, as the combination of Nyla Brooks and Nyla Harris powered the UNC women's basketball program to its seventh consecutive victory.

After trailing early on, North Carolina went on a 13-0 run to take the lead. That run would put them ahead for good, as the Tar Heels continued to pour it on against the Demon Deacons.

The duo of Nylas combined for 40 points, 12 rebounds, and four steals. Brooks scored a career-high 21 points off the bench, connecting on five three-point field goals. Harris had yet another outstanding performance, contributing 19 points and five rebounds of her own.

While the Nylas stole the show, the Tar Heels got steady contributions from others as well. Indya Nivar flirted with another triple-double, finishing the game with 9 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Lanie Grant scored eight early points to get the offense going, while Ciera Toomey added seven points and six rebounds in just 20 minutes of action.

Overall, the Tar Heels shot 48% from the floor, including 46% from three-point range.

With the win, the UNC women's basketball program has won seven straight, improving to 9-3 in ACC play. They have also secured their 20th victory of the 2025-2026 season with six regular season contests remaining.

North Carolina returns home to host SMU on Thursday night. A familiar face will be making her return to Chapel Hill, as Paulina Paris will play her first game at Carmichael Arena since transferring two seasons ago.

After the SMU game, the Tar Heels have their rivalry matchup with Duke, with round one occurring down Tobacco Road in Durham on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Devils are one of the hottest teams in the country, so it should be an absolute dogfight when the two teams meet up for the first time this season.
