Just prior to tip-off on Friday night, it was announced that two of the UNC basketball program's freshmen will not play against American.

Both James Brown and Ian Jackson are considered day-to-day due to lower leg injuries.

Jackson has been a steady contributor off the bench over the Tar Heels first two games, averaging 13.5 minutes per-game. Brown saw his first action against Kansas, as he provided a spark off the bench when the Tar Heels needed it the most.

With a trip to Hawaii upcoming, the Tar Heels will hope that both players can get healthy before then. North Carolina has a week off following their non-conference tilt with American, so both players should have plenty of time to recoup and return to the court in the near future.

Continue to follow the Keeping It Heel team as we'll provide updates regarding the injury statuses of James Brown and Ian Jackson.
