Ryleigh, what a Heck of a Year!

Coming off a season in which she earned National Player of the Year honors, Ryleigh Heck found a way to take her game to another level.

The junior from Ocean City, New Jersey, set new career highs in points (45) and assists (15), leading the UNC women's field hockey team to its eighth consecutive and 27th overall ACC Championship title.

While Heck has had no trouble scoring goals during her collegiate career, her ability to facilitate and set up her teammates for success played a large role in the program's trip to the Final Four.

It's likely that National Player of the Year honors are once again on the horizon for Heck, a player who has been at the forefront of the success that the UNC women's field hockey has had during the early tenure of Erin Matson's coaching career.
