Throughout his three years thus far at North Carolina, Seth Trimble has become the definition of a "team first" guy.
Whether he was needed to score the basketball or get a key stop on the defensive end, the rising senior has done anything that has been asked of him... literally.
Last season, Trimble was faced with a tall task on numerous occasions: guard players who were significantly bigger (both height and weight) than him.
Of course, Trimble took on the challenge and gave it his best effort every time he was out on the floor, but he sure is happy to have some reinforcements to help alleviate that tremendous challenge from him.
Trimble spoke to the media on Wednesday ahead of the 2025-2026 season. He was asked what it's been like playing with the team's new front court additions, notably Caleb Wilson, Jarin Stevenson and Henri Veesaar.
To no surprise, the Tar Heels' leader sung high praise of his new teammates, jokingly telling the media how he reminds them of how thankful he is to have them on the roster.
“I still tell them how thankful I am for them, because now I don’t have to guard guys over 6-10, 240 (pounds) or something like that. So it’s a huge blessing. The thing about them, too, they’re not just big. They have so many aspects of the game. Like Henri is an incredible shooter. Jarin is a lights-out shooter. Caleb is so dynamic, he can shoot the ball, he can put the ball on the floor and he can go and shut down the opposing team’s best player. So all of our bigs are so dynamic with their size, plus with everything that they can do. Our front court has a chance to do something really special this year.”
With the additions that were made during the offseason, Trimble will now have the opportunity to play more of his natural position. While Hubert Davis will call on him to lead this team on both ends of the floor, the hope is that his days of being asked to guard front court presences are over.
Of course, if he's asked to do it, Trimble wouldn't hesitate to do so. It goes to show just what kind of player (and person) he is.
