Still in shock over how things went down for former North Carolina basketball big man Ven-Allen Lubin? If you missed it, Lubin has said goodbye to Chapel Hill and hello to Raleigh, as he has officially committed to play for North Carolina State.

Earlier this spring, Lubin said he was only entering the transfer portal as a backup to how things would go down with the NCAA House Settlement and that he was fully planning on returning to UNC. Welp, so much for that.

Since the news of him joining NC State dropped, countless people have voiced their displeasure with the veteran power forward for this decision. The list includes former UNC fan favorite Theo Pinson, who made his thoughts on this transfer pretty darn clear:

UNC national champ Theo Pinson called out Ven-Allen Lubin over his move to NC State

With one simple word, Pinson was able to voice his anger towards Lubin, while also capturing exactly what plenty of others are thinking about things. This just doesn't make sense from Lubin, especially after he told UNC supporters they had nothing to worry about after the transfer portal news first was revealed:

Lubin made it seem like barring a shocker, he'd suit up for Hubert Davis and Co. next season. Lubin closed out the 2024-25 campaign on a high note, really taking his game to the next level. Now, though, he's going to be getting ready for his fourth college season with his fourth different program.

He originally signed as a 4-star prospect with Notre Dame, but then he made the move to Vanderbilt. Then UNC came calling, and now Will Wade has become the latest head coach to land his commitment. This unfortunately is the new world we live in for college sports.

UNC and NC State will only face off once next season, but Seth Trimble appears to have extra motivation to take down the Wolfpack now that Lubin has joined the enemy. Pinson surely isn't the only Tar Heel alum who is fired up, and not in a good way, about Lubin jumping ship like this. This call is just frustrating all around.
