So much for getting a look at the UNC basketball program's full 2025-2026 roster on Friday night...

The Luka Bogavac eligibility saga continues, as the international transfer will not play as his new team opens up exhibition play against BYU. This news was confirmed by North Carolina a little over an hour before the 9:00 PM EST tip-off.

Hubert Davis alluded to one more hurdle in terms of Bogavac's eligibility when he spoke to the media earlier this week. The Tar Heels head coach noted that the NCAA has cleared the 6-foot-6 guard, but the university has yet to fully clear him to play.

Given that they accepted him into the university and that he's enrolled in classes, it's pretty confusing as to why now, just 10 days before the start of the season, we're still having an issue resolving this situation.

Of course, we all wanted to see Bogavac in action, but the exhibition games are very important for teams as they gear up for the new season. With so many new faces on the roster, this group could use all the experience together possible, something that will now be impacted by this crazy situation that should've been resolved by now.

For now, the UNC basketball program will have to adjust without Bogavac, and as the season inches to within single-digits, it's very much concerning that this hasn't yet been resolved.

If this somehow continues into the start of the regular season, there will be many Tar Heel fans who will not be happy with the university.

At this point, all we can say is... FREE LUKA!
