It's a new year and head coach Bill Belichick is finding ways to improve his team's defense next season. His son, Steve, the defensive coordinator was with Washington during the 2024 campaign but is set to make his way to Chapel Hill after becoming a part of the staff.

Belichick and the UNC football program reached out and offered Washington State transfer Stephen Hall.

Hall, a defensive back, is listed at 6-foot and 199 pounds. The Memphis, Tennessee native made 40 tackles and had one interception to go with his three PDs.

As a transfer, Hall is listed as a three-star with a rating of 85, per 247Sports. Overall, he's 626th in the portal and 68 at his position. But despite those rankings, he will be lead by a Hall of Fame coach in Belichick — so it wouldn't matter as much in the end. The results come on the field, regardless of rankings.

Hall is listed as a redshirt junior, he began his career playing for Northwest Mississippi Community College back in 2020.

North Carolina's largest lost of the season happened on Saturday, September 21 at home against an unranked James Madison. The Tar Heels gave up 70 points — that number is the most points an opponent has ever scored against UNC.

Jahvaree Ritzie along with Kaimon Rucker have entered the NFL draft — two big names that helped make up UNC's defense. But the show must continue and find new players to fulfill those roles, making an impact in their own way, respectfully.

The days move by faster than we all expect, and before you know it — it's already August and the time for college football to begin. It will be a new kind of culture, led by an unexpected name inside of a packed Kenan Stadium (you'd assume considering the magnitude of the football program).

Recruiting, hiring, and coaching — Belichick has a full plate on his hands but it shouldn't be something he can't handle.
