The 2026-2027 schedule for Michael Malone and the UNC basketball program is officially set.
After the non-conference schedule was revealed, the Atlantic Coast Conference finally gave us what we've all been waiting for. The final piece to the scheduling puzzle has now been confirmed: let's talk about it!
UNC's ACC schedule for the 2026-2027 season has been revealed
Malone's first taste of conference action will come on Wednesday, December 30, when he and the Tar Heels welcome Cal to Chapel Hill to close out the calendar year.

Overall, UNC will play the following number of ACC games in each calendar month:
December: 1
January: 8
February: 7
March: 2
North Carolina will open 2027 with back-to-back road games against Boston College and Louisville (a game everyone will have circled on their calendars for obvious reasons). The Tar Heels then return home to host NC State in their first game at the Dean Smith Center during the new calendar year, the beginning of a stretch in which UNC will play four home games in a span of six games.
Remember: the home game against the Wolfpack will be the second meeting between the two programs but the only one that counts as a conference game. The other is considered a non-conference game, one that makes up for the fact that the two in-state foes don't play a home-and-home series due to ACC scheduling.
You're probably waiting for the big games... don't worry, we didn't forget those!
Louisville will come to Chapel Hill on February 8, marking Seth Trimble's return to campus. Just five days later, North Carolina will make the trip down Tobacco Road to visit the Duke Blue Devils in the first of two meetings between the historic programs.
North Carolina will be on the road for the majority of the final stretch of the regular season, having four of their last six games away from Chapel Hill. Miami (February 22) and Duke (March 6, also the regular season finale) will be the final two games played at the Dean Smith Center this winter.

The 2026-2027 season is getting closer by the day, as Tar Heel fans anxiously await the start of this new era of Carolina basketball. We now know the path that Malone and company will be on this upcoming season as they look to navigate a competitive schedule in hopes of preparing for a deep postseason run come March.
