JJ Jones has been working toward gaining an additional season of eligibility from the NCAA.

The UNC football program's leading receiver made his case behind what occurred his freshman season, a year he was supposed to redshirt. However, due to injuries, Jones was forced into action, essentially derailing those plans.

In the given landscape of college football, you would think that, along with some injuries he dealt with throughout his career (which forced him to play limited snaps) would be enough for the NCAA to grant him an additional season of eligibility.

Well... about that...

Jones told Tar Heel Illustrated that the NCAA denied his appeal. The senior stated that he will try one more time, but is going into the Fenway Bowl with the mindset that this will be the final time he suits up as a Tar Heel.

Of course, every situation is different, but doesn't it feel like the NCAA is willing to give out extra eligibility like it's candy?

Well, unless you're a Tar Heel, then they give you issues (remember the whole Tez Walker debacle).

Hopefully, Jones will win his second appeal and gain an additional season of eligibility. However, if it is the end of Jones' time with the UNC football program, the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina native hopes to put together a big performance in his final outing as a Tar Heel on Saturday morning in the team's bowl game.
