Caleb Wilson received some pretty big news on Tuesday.
The Dean Smith Center rafters are calling as Caleb Wilson earns All-American honors
The star freshman forward learned that he earned Second-Team All-American honors from the Associated Press. Why is this important?
Well, it secures his spot among the UNC legends in the Dean Smith Center rafters.
Since even before he arrived on campus, Wilson vowed to make his mark on Chapel Hill. He did just that, as his likely lone season as a Tar Heel is one that we will all remember for quite some time.
The moment he found out was absolutely priceless, and we are fortunate to get a glimpse of it courtest of the UNC basketball program's social media accounts.

At practice, Hubert Davis gathered the team and proceeded to tell the group that Wilson earned the All-American accolade. After the group gave him a well-deserved round of applause, Davis went on to let him know that his No. 8 jersey has now met the UNC criteria to be honored at the Dean Smith Center.

Wilson's smile says it all
You can see the look on his face that he is extremely happy that he was able to accomplish this major goal of his.
Whether his No. 8 jersey ultimately landed in the rafters or not, Wilson's freshman season at North Carolina was always going to go down as one of the best we've ever seen.
While he didn't get to fulfill everything he was aiming to do this season, he sure left it all out on the court every time he took the floor, as he can honestly say he gave everything he had to this university and this program.
For his hard work and dedication, he now will be placed among the greats that have worn the Carolina Blue uniform. He rightfully has earned his spot among this elite group of Tar Heels.
