If you follow the Diamond Heels, you know a thing or two about the infamous "Bosh Magic."
Typically, "Bosh Magic" is most-known for coming out during postseason action, as there are plenty of instances where the powers were unleashed to help the good guys secure a victory.
Well, it's only February, but the "Bosh Magic" was working overtime to help the Diamond Heels secure a three-game sweep over Indiana to start the 2026 regular season.
An insane sequence
After winning the first two games decisively, North Carolina found itself with its back against the wall in the final game of the three-game set.
The Tar Heels entered the bottom of the ninth trailing 3-1, but had a bit of a rally in their bones. In fact, North Carolina loaded the bases but only had one out to work with, as Scott Forbes elected to pinch-hit left-hander Lee Sowers in an attempt to make something happen.
Well, something did happen, as Sowers grounded into what everyone watching thought was a routine ground ball to second base. What happens after the ball is fielded is still pretty tough to grasp, as you just have to watch it for yourself.

The impossible happened, as the throw was no where near the first base bag, rolling toward the dugout. North Carolina was able to tie the game on the errant throw, as Sowers' reaction on second base following the play is all you need to know.
EVERYONE WAS STUNNED!
The "Bosh Magic" strikes again!
We've seen some crazy things happen in the past, but this play has to rank near the top of the list.
The throw reminded some of us older folk of the Chuck Knoblauch disaster for the New York Yankees. In case you're unfamiliar, Knoblauch was a Gold Glove caliber fielder who just caught a really bad case of the "yips," something that derailed his entire career."
While the "yips" are certainly curable (and we hope Indiana's second baseman bounces back from them!) we are grateful for the insane error that gave North Carolina the opportunity to secure the sweep in extra innings.
Typically, a Duke transfer hitting a walk-off homer for North Carolina would be the headline. However, as crazy as that first sentence sounded, this play will be replayed for quite some time, serving as one of the best examples of "Bosh Magic" we've ever seen.
